Our residents rave about Pomona’s award-winning Lifestyle Program, and it’s easy to see why with more than 300 events and endless activities for the entire family taking place throughout the year. The Lifestyle Program goes beyond coordinating events and activities; it’s the heart and focus of the new home community in Manvel, TX, building relationships, connecting, listening, encouraging, and supporting neighbors. And thanks to our fantastic, award-winning Lifestyle Director, Lori Evans, Pomona residents enjoyed a variety of fun-filled and life-enriching events this past year. Here’s a look at some of our favorite events from 2022 from Greater Houston Builder Association’s Master Planned Community of the Year!
Celebrating the start of spring, we held our annual Spring Fling to bring family and neighbors together and outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. This fun event included camel rides, a petting zoo, carnival rides, bouncy houses, food trucks, a pony carousel and more. Seeing the pure joy of being outside and enjoying the community on our youngest residents' faces was so special.
In March, residents took part in learning a new skill with an Archery 101 class led by Texas Parks and Wildlife. Pomona residents and staff alike had a blast practicing their bow and arrow skills, and many took aim for the very first time.
And in April, Pomona residents met at The Dock alongside our 18-acre Pomona Lake to participate in kayaking and paddleboarding lessons with Fishing Tackle Unlimited. It was a big hit with the residents, giving them an opportunity to learn these fun water sports, many for the first time, right here in the neighborhood. The smiles were ear to ear for the families that joined in the fun; some even conquered a fear of being on the water!
Summer is such a fun time for Pomona residents and their families and a time to enjoy more time together. In June, we held our Tunes and Tails Crawfish Boil, sponsored by The Mouton Group. Pomona neighbors went “cray” for the delicious crawfish boil thanks to Boyd’s Crawfish Warehouse bringing their absolute best to our community. The kids also got to burn off some energy in the bounce house and on the rock-climbing wall and cool off with tasty snow cones.
In June, Pomona also hosted the Kickoff to Summer Splash event at The Swimming Hole, featuring our two resort-style pools. This FIN-tastic event included a visit from a real-life mermaid, bounce house water slides, snow cones and more, all thanks to our Sharks Swim Club for sponsoring!
Fall is also a special time in Pomona, with plenty of family-friendly events for the entire community. In October, Pomona hosted a unique event, Dinosaurs in the Park. Featuring replicas of numerous dinosaurs, both big and small, our youngest residents loved petting, walking, playing and posing with these amazing creatures that once roamed the Earth.
Everyone loves a festival, and the Fall Festival at Pomona is always a blast for our residents. This past November, we had an amazing turnout for the Fall Festival, with families enjoying dozens of activities and rides, including hay rides, bumper cars, a bouncy house, balloon animals, foot trucks and more.
